Tulsa Proposal at Centennial Park | Josh & Jacey | Tulsa Proposal Photographer
Happy Tuesday! Josh and Jacey’s Tulsa skyline proposal is on the blog today, along with a little bit of their story AND how all of this unfolded!
I first heard from Josh last December – we had our introductory call that I schedule with all of my proposal clients, and I was so excited to photograph his holiday proposal to Jacey! We talked about a December date – they were planning to visit Tulsa with a few friends, look at Christmas lights, and enjoy a little weekend away from Oklahoma City. We talked through some possible location options and we were ready to move forward with planning….until I realized that their proposal was the same day we were planning to celebrate Christmas with our family!! I was so bummed to miss out, but I wanted to make sure Josh was all taken care of and could move forward with another photographer who would go above and beyond. I sent him a few recommendations for friends, along with some location ideas and links.
As it turns out, that is not what unfolded! This was meant to be! Josh ended up getting COVID not too long after our call, and pushed their Tulsa trip AND the proposal back to February! He emailed me a few weeks later and we were able to schedule a new date – free of COVID and holiday plans! What we ended up getting was even better than I could have imagined because it included SNOW! After the last two weeks of ice and winter weather, I was so happy we still had a bit on the ground for their Tulsa skyline proposal – Centennial Park was the perfect place for it to go down (aside from a bit of a sloshy mess walking from the car to our spot!) and I LOVE how the photos turned out! I think this was my fourth Tulsa proposal to photograph and one of my favorites! (Check out Chelsea and Anderson, Maddie and Austin from last year!)
Josh and Jacey are a Tinder success story! He was back in OKC after living in Colorado for a bit, and decided to hop on the app, of course having no idea what the Lord had in store! They had their first date, and just a little over a year and a half later, here we are! The night of the proposal, Jacey thought that she and the girls were meeting up with the guys at Centennial to take a few pictures with the skyline before dinner…and then a “random photographer” walked by to offer to take them! Moments later, Josh was down on one knee, Jacey was crying, their friends were cheering, the champagne was popped, and we pulled it off! She said yes!
This was such a fun Saturday afternoon and I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter, easier couple to celebrate. I also can’t wrap up this blog post without sharing that this was my first shoot with my brand new Canon R6! I am THRILLED with the upgrade – it is true that my lenses feel like they are actually living up to their potential! Everything is tack sharp and I have major heart eyes! Cannot wait to bring it out with me this spring for senior season!
Congrats you two!
The friend pic before Jacey knew was happening! How precious is this!!
