With over a decade of photography experience, I’ve nailed down my processes for lighting, locations, and poses to make sure you look and feel your absolute best. Plus, you’ll receive session guides to help you prepare. No scrambling at the last minute, and no prior modeling experience required!
FEEL NATURAL
I’ll help walk you through natural prompts and poses to capture the genuine emotions of the milestones you are celebrating. No stiffness, no anxiety, no fake laughing, and no “what do I do with my hands?” throughout your entire session with me.

Your session won’t be filled with prompts and poses pulled from Pinterest that don’t resonate with who you truly are. I provide an entire photography experience designed around you, your connections with your family, and your current season of life. Your photos will be reflective of your personality and what you’re celebrating.

First things first, let me know you’re interested! I'd love to walk you through the process, providing guidance and sharing my expertise each step of the way. You wouldn't believe how often I hear, "I didn't expect this to be as fun as it was!" from MFP families and seniors.
What if we’ve never had photos taken professionally before?
I want to capture your connection with each other, not with my camera. I will guide and prompt you and your family through intentional, natural prompts, however you can always move and flow with what feels comfortable to you. I use natural lighting and minimal editing to highlight the true-to-life beauty of the season you’re currently in.
What is your shooting style?
I absolutely love tailoring every session to each individual client. So, I’ll find out from you where your family likes to spend time in Bartlesville, Tulsa, and the surrounding areas. Whether it’s on your family’s land or a park you visit most often, we can chat about the best places to tell your story. There are a handful of nooks and locations that I will personally select during your session based on the best lighting, availability, and your own interests!
What locations do you use for our photography sessions?
The most important part of choosing outfits for your photo session is to choose something you feel comfortable and confident in. Soft colors and neutrals like blush, cream, soft blues, and greens photograph beautifully. And if you’re still a little stuck, the MFP outfit guide will help you narrow down your outfit choices and how to coordinate picture-perfect outfits for your family or senior session.
What should I wear?
Not even Gary England knows Oklahoma weather! I reserve several days each month for make-up photo sessions in case we get rained out on our original date together. If it looks like it’s going to rain on the day of your session, don't fret! We’ll chat about rescheduling and find a time that works for both of us.
What if it rains on the day of my session?
I will hand-select the best of the best images from your photography session with me, with no maximum number of photos. Most galleries will have 50+ fully edited photos! You’ll get an email with a link to your gallery once it’s finalized. From there, you’ll be able to download, share, and print photos straight from your gallery.
How many images does the Melanie Foster Family Experience come with?
After our session, I will start editing your full gallery before delivering it to you. You’ll receive your entire, fully edited gallery within three weeks of our session date!
How long will it take to get my photos after our session?
Keeping in mind that April - May and September - November are often the busiest seasons for photographers, the farther out you plan for your session, the better! I typically recommend seniors book 4 months in advance, and families book 2-3 months in advance.
