Have I mentioned that summer time is my favorite? Because it is MY FAVORITE! The Fourth of July has always been special to me growing up because I spent it at Kanakuk Kamps! I got to watch fireworks at the lake with some of my dearest childhood friends that I only saw once a year in one of the happiest places in the country!

Now, with all three of the Foster girls grown up, our family gets together for the Fourth at the lake in east Texas! Boat-time, lake sunsets, water balloon fights, and home-cooked meals did my soul some good this past weekend! We weren’t all together at the same time, but I did get to see everyone at some point! I’ve also attempted to make tacky Fourth of July pictures an annual thing! My dad didn’t quite get the memo, but he made up for it in his typical fashion 🙂

Side note – it’s been my goal every year since I turned 18 to make sure I ski at least once every time I’m at the lake in the summer, and get back on the boat WITHOUT using the ladder! Is that ridiculous? I’m still doing it so something must be working 😂 Do you have any summer traditions? How did you spend the Fourth of July?
