I knew I was going to be particularly excited about these images as I was in the process of taking them, but I did now know how OBSESSED I would be until I started putting my edits on them and then I really began to freak out! I was sending them to my mom mid-edit, talking about how beautiful Lexy was and all the things I loved about the shoot – she got her makeup done which is a KEY to elevating your images, she had a variety of fun outfits, and she personalized her session, adding some extra time so we could photograph her in all her favorite places on Oklahoma’s campus. I couldn’t keep my favorites to myself and have been beside myself all day just so excited to put these out in the world!

One of the things that set Lexy apart was her intentional mission to have fun on our shoot. Thankfully she has experience being in front of the camera (and behind it!), so she was a fast friend and was immediately comfortable with me. I noticed this right off the bat upon meeting her, and then as I was culling for my selects, I couldn’t help but laugh a little because because it was literally the 4th photo I took that she started hamming it up and striking poses – I LOVED IT!!! I also loved her confidence and willingness to be goofy, look silly, and break out into a model walk or Beyonce dance moves to get the quirky and fun shots!

I’m particularly impressed by Lexy’s independence. She will be the first in her family to graduate from college and is taking a big leap of faith by moving all the way to New York City to pursue a career in nursing! And maybe even a future food blog or instagram account? 😉 We bonded over our love for Levain Cookies (an NYC staple if you haven’t been!) – she is a huge foodie and one of her favorite parts about the city is all of the fun restaurants. I can’t blame her!!
