Introducing Heirloom Portraits | Tulsa, Bartlesville, and OKC Photographer

A beautiful modern take on a timeless tradition!

I’m thrilled to officially introduce Tulsa Heirloom Portraits. Rooted in tradition, crafted with intention, and designed to be handed down for generations. As much as I love the energy and delight in family photos, these are completely different! Heirloom photos are a nod to family history and a way to preserve the details and beauty of your children, just as they are today, in printed artwork to be cherished and passed down for generations.

Whether you’re in Tulsa, Bartlesville, or OKC, I’d love for you to be part of this timeless tradition!

What Are Heirloom Portraits?

Heirloom portraits are beautiful portraits that are artfully and carefully crafted. I’ve spent months learning an entirely new side of photography (both on the technical and business side!) and perfecting every detail. To be done right and in a way that honors the tradition, heirlooms are created using studio lighting, a neutral backdrop, and honest expression. These portraits strip away distractions and let your child’s face tell the story. Every detail, from the lighting to the final printed product, is intentionally designed to create a piece of art that will live well beyond digital timelines and social media scrolls. The way I think of it is like a commissioned piece of fine art: crafted with care, created to be held, and destined to be passed down!

Why Heirlooms? My Story!

Conversations with my sister (mom of 3 boys) over the past year and a half have led me here! We kept coming back to the same thought: how special it is to have one photo that captures your child in their most angelic, polished little form. 99% of the time my girls are wearing stained clothes, tangled hair, dried yogurt on their face, and feet practically dyed from running barefoot outside. It’s the epitome of childhood! And I love photographing a little more polished version of that in my regular lifestyle family photography sessions.

But heirloom portraits are different. In all the ways!

They’re slow, relaxed, and intentional. These sessions aren’t about capturing dozens of images for a gallery or Instagram carousel. They’re about selecting and perfecting one to three timeless images with every curl in place, a glimmer in the eye, soft smile – portraits worthy of your walls. It’s breathtaking, professional, archival quality matting and framing, because they get framed and stay framed. These aren’t images that get switched out with the seasons, or even year after year. Your children will see and study themselves, not on a screen but in real life and on your walls. These are treasures that can live on for generations!. Years from now, it’s the kind of piece your grandchild will study, searching for a glimpse of themselves in their family history.

It’s why I’ve crafted the offering with digitals available, but only with the purchase of a print product. Digitals are backups, and these images are made to be printed on professional fine art paper, framed with care and quality, guaranteed to live well beyond us!

A Modern Take on a Classic Tradition

Historically, heirloom portraits were treated with reverence. Before everyone had a phone in their pocket, these were often the only image families had of a person. They were tangible, cherished, passed from hand to hand across generations. Even when reproductions became possible, those original prints remained the most sacred. That same respect guides my approach.
