Where is the Best Tulsa Photoshoot Location? From a Tulsa Photographer
When I think about the most beautiful Tulsa locations for photoshoots, my mind always goes to Woodward Park and the Tulsa Historical Society. It’s a personal favorite, not just because of the classic backdrops, but because it’s also where I have chosen to have my own family captured! This is exactly where we took our own engagement photos back in 2020! Remember the epic tulip tree photos? We’ve been back several times for more photoshoots!
This spot works for just about everything and everyone, and I love that there are a variety of backdrops all in a small walking distance. Classic architecture with big white columns and arches (the actual mansion gets direct sun so that specific spot is best on overcast days or sunrise sessions!), the manicured gardens, brick paths, and open green spaces. If you want portraits that feel timeless but still have a fresh, sophisticated look, this is where I’d recommend!
Perfect Tulsa Photoshoot Location in Every Season
Certain times of the year, it’s even more magical! In March, there’s of course that gorgeous tulip tree that blooms right at the front. In June and July, the gardens are at their best. And of course, the fall colors never disappoint. You really can’t go wrong, but summer and fall tend to be my favorites!
It can be a popular place for photos, especially during the busy photography seasons (looking at you October!), but that’s why I recommend sunrise sessions here. I talk about this a lot, but morning light often can’t be beat. Plus, we skip the crowds and kids are usually fresh and in great moods! You don’t have to fight for space or worry about random people in the background. Early morning sessions also give us cooler temps during those warmer months, and everyone tends to feel a little more relaxed before the day gets going. If you’ve been wondering where to take your next round of family photos in Tulsa, Woodward Park and the Tulsa Historical Society are always going to be at the top of my list. I’ve seen it through every season, I’ve photographed families here for years, and I’d love to help you celebrate this season with your littles in such a beautiful, timeless place.
If you’re on the hunt for more Tulsa photoshoot locations, I’ve got you covered. I’ll help you plan your session from start to finish – everything from what to wear to where we’ll shoot. We’ll keep things relaxed, playful, and easy so you can enjoy the process and walk away with something meaningful to show for it. Thoughtful, full-service Tulsa photography means you don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
