The Willis Family | Tulsa Area Photographer | Dewey Family Photos

How did this session came together over the course of one weekend? Well, a Thursday afternoon inquiry from Christin turned into a Friday booking, a Monday session date, and now you’re looking at just about the cutest darn family photos from Dewey, Oklahoma. The Willis’ were in town from southern California for a family wedding and had the idea to take their family photos with Jacob’s parents and grandmother (Granberry – how precious is that name!!) on family land while here for their visit. A quick google and instagram search for a Tulsa area photographer led them to me, and I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity to capture this darling husband and wife photographer team and their four kiddos!

This session is the perfect example of what family photos should be. Think about the biggest celebrations of you and your family’s legacy. What do we do when we’re celebrating grandma’s 80th birthday, or mom and dad’s 50th wedding anniversary? What do we do when we gather as a family to honor the legacy of a loved one? How do you bring your college days back to life, or share stories with your little girl about what your childhood was like?

We gather photos. Printed photos. Albums. Yearbooks. Scrapbooks. We put together slideshows to share with our family and friends. We reflect on the memories that built us, the visual evidence of our stories. Your photos only grow in value over time…they are what your children will have left of you, how they will remember you, and the treasure they will hold on to. They aren’t all perfectly posed, smiling at the camera photos. They capture the emotions, the playfulness, the chaos, and pride. They capture the sentiment of “the days are long, but the years are short”. Soon enough, they won’t be this little anymore. And it may be difficult to remember the time that they were.

When you look back over the years, I don’t want the biggest regret you have to be gaps of time missing from your memories. Instead of struggling to remember, I want you to have photos like these, that help bring back all the joy and the chaos and become even more of a treasure as the years go on.

As a Tulsa area photographer, our next availability for sessions is April 2022. View more families here, or inquire for more information and to book your spot!
