Friends!! Meet the Metts family!! Austin, Brook, Griffin, and Lola! Jonathan and I took a little field trip last week to meet this adorable family at their cabin in Copan for their fall family photos and it did NOT disappoint. We had gorgeous weather, two of the cutest (and easiest) little ones I’ve ever seen, plus a stunning backdrop on their property. I am ALWAYS for shooting on private land…it is too much fun getting to explore and photograph families in a place that has special meaning and memories! I was so glad we chose to do their fall photo session here, just outside of Bartlesville, especially after I found out that this was the same cabin they got engaged in!
I’ve said for years that I was’t ready to photograph families, but this year, as my season of life shifted, so did my heart! I’ve had more families this year than years past and it has been a joy! One of the things I wanted to focus on for this session was keeping Griffin engaged. He’s not quite 3, so I wanted to give him fun “tasks” like being chased by dad, playing the part of a puppet, and sitting on dad’s shoulders! He was so so sweet with Lola, who was 100% WORN OUT by the end of our session! The four of us adults were standing on the dock chatting after we wrapped shooting, and this sweet pea fell asleep on her mom’s chest in a matter of minutes.
While we were chatting, I was surprised to find out that before they had their kiddos, the Metts lived in Nashville at the same time as me! It’s those little connection points that make meeting new people and sharing passions and stories all the more fun.
Enjoy these sweet fall Bartlesville family photos!!
