Bailey and David | OU Campus Spring Proposal
Where do I even begin with this one? What we thought was going to be a super straightforward, logistically perfect, and easy-breezy senior shoot TURNED spring OU campus proposal ended up having a lot of twists and turns along the way!
David called me earlier this spring to talk about proposing to his girlfriend, Bailey! He loved the idea of popping the question at OU at the tail end of her senior shoot that she had booked with me. (Side note – she was my FIRST 2020 senior to book for the year…we’ve had her on the calendar since June of 2019!) I also LOVED this idea and was immediately on board!
…and then there was COVID-19.
In all honesty, I wasn’t really that concerned in the middle of March when everything started shutting down. I didn’t know at the time what things would look like, and when it comes to proposals, I am going to do whatever I can to MAKE IT HAPPEN. It is part of my job to help make these dream-come-true moments come to life, regardless of the obstacles in the way. Obviously a lot changed over the course of the last few weeks, and I wanted to be prepared.
David and I talked about moving locations. We talked about a possible backyard proposal. We talked about weather (this was one of the coldest days of the month…). We talked about changing dates. You wouldn’t believe all of the scenarios I had running through my head to make sure that we were planning for anything and everything to possibly come up as the COVID stuff developed. When it came down to it, literally everything fell back into place just as we had it to start, and the plan went off without a hitch!
Leading up to this sweet moment, I was with Bailey, her mom, and her sister on campus taking her graduation pictures. We were socially distancing ourselves, and while it was definitely not a normal shoot, we still got some of the cutest pictures that I can’t wait to share soon, too!
David shared a little about why he loves Bailey, so I’ll leave you with his sweet words about his fiancé!
She’s extremely thoughtful and selfless. She’s willing to go above and beyond to help others and put their needs before her own in a way that I’ve never seen before. She also has a contagiously joyful personality. She truly is the life of the party. She is a constant reminder that the world is a beautiful place. I truly can’t imagine life without her and I’m so excited to take this next step.
