First of all…

I am the worst at blogging. It’s a struggle to find the right words to convey truly how special each and every client and friend is when I’m sharing their images. I want to do them & their stories justice! In this busy season, blogging is an overwhelming task. From writing it, curating and prepping the best images to share, getting the SEO just right, picking an image to promote it on Instagram, wondering if people even read the blogs. So I am attempting to give myself some grace and I promise more will be coming soon!

Now – onto these new friends who have SO many reasons to celebrate! Can you imagine buying a truck, putting an offer in on a house, leaving your job, and getting engaged ALL IN THREE DAYS!?!? Because that is what happened to Jacob & Allison! These two met on OU’s campus and share so many memories here. It was only fitting that Jacob proposed where it all began!

One of my worst nightmares ALMOST happened this night…

(This story is one of the main reasons why you should hire a professional proposal photographer). The spot we picked is one of my favorite spots on campus and not surprisingly, it’s a lot of other people’s as well. I was hanging out between the clock tower and the walkway we had picked, waiting for Jacob & Allison to turn the corner and head my way. All of a sudden I see a group of 4-5 people with cameras hanging around not too far away and I started to get super nervous. I had already met Jacob, so I knew who I was looking for, but I didn’t know if he had told other friends and family when and where to be so I had NO clue if these people were waiting for the same couple in the wrong spot. I ran up to one of them, asked who they were shooting for, and found out it was a DIFFERENT COUPLE!! That couple was walking up a few moments later and got engaged about 10 minutes before Jacob & Allison showed up! Even with a location scout, you truly have no idea what else could be happening (new construction, a wedding, etc.) which is why I was so thankful I was there!!

One of the best parts about shooting proposals is the emotion that hits during & after the surprise!

Allison had NO IDEA this was coming! Jacob told her they were meeting his parents for drinks! She was a bit confused as to why they were walking towards one of the parking garages across campus from where they parked but once she knew was was happening, she couldn’t stop smiling. They were just giddy as we took the rest of our pictures around campus – one of my favorite things to witness! And they are SO IN LOVE!!! Congratulations you two!!
