Fall Engagement in Norman, OK | Skye and Shawn
Hi friends! Meet Skye & Shawn! They got engaged over the summer in a darling backyard proposal, and I had the honor of getting to photograph them to celebrate this anticipatory and exciting chapter in their relationship! A few of my favorite things I learned about these two: they are super chill and laid back, they are outdoorsy, adventurous, and love being outside, and they are getting married in a small ceremony in Jackson Hole, Wyoming next July with only 20 people! What a dream! I loved getting to hear about the first time they met (at OU through a campus ministry!), their first date (a movie and then the Mont!), and how the consistency in their friendship over a long-distance summer eventually led to the start of their relationship that next fall. They were too cute giving me all the details and background info, and had the best back-and-forth banter between them as they shared parts of their story and relationship!
As far as our session goes, we had the PERFECT weather. We snagged a great date because the next day was probably one of the first big cold fronts of fall and it of course continued into the following week! Cloudy and overcast skies, plus the fall colors in the trees (if it hasn’t peaked yet, we’re close, so this was great timing the third week of October!) and their fall outfits were the highlights. I was super impressed with their style – I thought the first outfit with Shawn in plaid and Skye in the white sweater was my favorite, but then I saw the blue dress (both me and Skye’s favorite color) and I knew it would be hard to pick between the two sets! Also can we talk about Skye’s GORGEOUS ring? It is one of the most unique I’ve photographed, and I had a ton of fun getting to personalize those shots by pulling in the wildflowers and light wood for the up-close photos!
Scroll through to catch a few of my favorites from their Norman engagement session!
