Fall 2018 University of Oklahoma Senior – Riley

I hope I’m not the only one listening to Christmas music right now…even though these photos look like spring/summer, they were from last week! Before winter leapfrogged over fall and took over Oklahoma the past few days! Hah! I am justifying the music by the fact that mid November – December 25 is just not enough time to enjoy the full holiday season! I’m not a Christmas crazy person by any means, but I do think if we are going to go through all of the effort of decorating, putting up a tree, curating and obsessing over our holiday playlists, and having Christmas movie marathons, then we should be able to enjoy it for more than a month 🙂

Anyways, RILEY DENTON!!! Freaking model-status!!!!! Riley absolutely C R U S H E D it last week at her senior shoot. And I tend to think she is incredible at more than just taking a great photo! Riley is also graduating from OU a whole semester EARLY! I have said it before and I’ll say it again – my seniors are way smarter than me. There are so many awesome dreams and plans and exciting passions that my girls have and it blesses me to be able to hear about them, cheer them on as they chase them, and capture them as they go after what they want! For Riley, it’s being involved in the wedding industry as a planner!

We had perfect weather for this shoot – something I always look forward to about shooting fall seniors. The light has changed FAST with the upcoming time change, but it keeps me on my toes to make sure I’m prioritizing the best spots and challenging myself with new locations and angles. Riley and I started over at Jacobson Hall and got some of my favorite shots right away (see above!). I’ve also been obsessed with my new 85mm lens – most of these images were shot with it and it’s blowing my mind. I’m so glad Riley and my fall seniors get to reap the benefits of that!
