The Morgans – Bartlesville Milestone Photographer for Baby’s First Year

Oh how I love these photos and this family! Chloe and Jack are such a darling couple, and they went through so much to have their little miracle baby Wren. It makes it that much more special that they celebrated her with milestone photography in 2023 and 2024!

We first met a couple weeks after Wren arrived in the world. I was honored when Chloe reached back out to book milestone sessions around her 6 month and 1 year birthday as well! That first year of life is so sweet and full of so much change and growth. Both for mom and dad AND baby. I was thrilled when they decided they wanted to document their growing little girl at very intentional stages.

Best Timing for Baby’s First Year Photos

Newborn photos, 6 months, and 12 months are the perfect milestone occasions for family photos. Around 6 months, baby is typically just starting to sit up and trying real food! There is more evidence of their little personalities and the deepening bond between momma and baby is so special! This is around the time that my husband usually says he starts to really click with our girls, too. I love the sloppy kisses, smiles, and giggles around 6 months! Our kiddos have really grown in to being my “little buddies” around this age and I love taking them out and about to run errands. We always get stopped at the grocery store, thrift store, etc. by other parents and grandparents oohing and aaahing over how precious they are!

1 Year Old Photoshoot – The Perfect Time for Photos with Babies!

At 12 months, there is so much to celebrate! One full year of life – you made it! This is when our babies started to lose their “baby” traits and began to look more and more like a toddler. It is when we start saying goodbye to a lot of things like crawling (hello cruising and walking!) and maybe even weaning! I have loved getting to reflect on my birth stories around this timeframe, too. It is so wild to think back to what you were doing when you went into labor and relive all the details through pictures and videos. If you haven’t written down your birth story, I highly recommend it! Even if it’s just for yourself! We shared ours here (for our firstborn) and here (for our second baby!)

Having photos taken within your child’s first year of life is so special. They are changing every day, and although it may not feel like it in the moment, this is one of the easiest times for professional photos! Most babies are still cooperative, easy to get smiling, and snuggly! Pack a snack, a book or lovie, and a drink and you’ll be good to go. You can even have grandparents hop in for a few photos!

Although the Morgan family is moving this year, I’m hopeful I will get to see them again soon! These are photos from just one of the four times I was fortunate enough to photograph their family, and they are definitely some of my favorites!
