Trey & Keely – OKC Rooftop Proposal – OKC Proposal Ideas

Proposal

Hi friends! Meet Trey & Keely – the future Mr. & Mrs. Hoehner! I couldn’t be more excited to share a bit of their story with you today!

Trey reached out to me about a month and a half ago as he started putting plans in place to propose to his girlfriend. He and Keely have a sweet and special friendship with each other that has been the foundation for their relationship – they met in SIXTH GRADE at Oklahoma Christian School! It wasn’t until years later that they really started to get close. When they were freshman at OU, Trey asked Keely on their first date – dinner, a ride on the ferris wheel at Wheeler Park, ice cream, and swimming at Trey’s house. Pretty sure he was set from the get-go! He was officially swept off his feet when they had their first kiss – that’s when he knew Keely was the one.

Fast forward a few years to this weekend and I was standing with Trey on the top of a scenic rooftop parking garage looking out over the OKC skyline. I was praying for the rain to hold off at the clouds rolled in, but he was not the slightest bit nervous. We snapped photos of the ring and walked through the plan we had talked about at our location scout just a week before. Little did Keely know, we were a few stories above her as she parked her car in the parking lot below before walking across the street to meet friends for “dinner”. It honestly couldn’t have worked out more perfectly – the restaurant they were planning to go to was actually closed, giving them the perfect excuse to run up to a friend’s car in the garage. Keely was clueless. When she finally looked up and saw Trey, the excitement on her face was PRICELESS. There was a gasp, a “WHAAAAAT!?”, and some jumping – it was precious! Those are the reactions you want from your girl!

One of my favorite moments after their proposal was when Keely got a second look at her ring. It’s almost as if you could hear her thinking, “wait – this is real? This is on my hand? I get to wear this forever?! Did that actually just happen?” I especially love when she starting putting all the pieces together too, remembering weird little things that friends or family said or did, figuring out who had to pull off a white lie…replaying the whole thing in her head!

I am embarrassed to admit that I actually teared up reading Trey’s questionnaire about he and Keely. I asked her why he loved Keely and it’s too sweet to not share a little bit of –

“I love her exuberant personality and love for relationships. She has always been very good with people, it is fun to watch her do her thing. She is very cute and loves the Lord. She is strong willed and has a passionate mind of her own which is very attractive. I love her ability to joke around and be adventurous with me. Our adventures freshman year of college I’m sure had a lot to do with her liking me.”

I’ll leave you with that darling note! Congratulations friends!
