celebrating OU seniors and Bartlesville and Tulsa families through photography.

Hey, y’all!

I’m Melanie, the girl behind the lens at Melanie Foster Photography. Whether you’re getting ready for your upcoming OU senior or your Bartlesville or Tulsa family photography experience, I hope you’ll stay a while, pick up a few tips, and be inspired for your own MFP photo session!

Seniors

Ally and I hit it off right away – we both came to OU as freshmen from Illinois! Just a few years apart 😉 She grew up in a small town just north of St. Louis, and as we were talking, one of the things we related on was how it felt as an outsider when we arrived on campus for the first time freshman year. I remembering thinking everyone already knew each other from Tulsa, Dallas, and OKC! Ally didn’t know a soul when she came to campus, either, so all-the-more props to her for her boldness and persistence in moving somewhere totally new, giving it 110%, and of course she ended up loving it! It was a huge adjustment from her hometown! There’s something about us out-of-staters that is especially bonding 🙂

The way Ally talked about her college experience sounded like blessing after blessing – she was actually roommates in the dorms with one of my other upcoming MFP seniors – and met a ton of her best girlfriends right off the bat her freshman year. She was highly involved in her sorority, serving as Vice President of Standards for a year and a half, and giving her time to just about every other committee you could imagine! On top of that, she is brilliant, and plans to take a fifth year to complete an accelerated MBA program!

We also chatted about how things have changed on campus over the last year with COVID, and enjoyed a little bit of a slower evening around the North Oval since there weren’t too many others around taking OU spring graduation pictures. (Thank goodness – after my first weekend in town, a slower pace was appreciated!) At the end of our session, I actually found out Ally had been following me on Instagram all four years of college – CRAZY! I LOVED hearing that and had to laugh that we made it through the entire session without making that connection!

Thank you Ally for your sweet nature and excitement! Your session was a breath of fresh air, your photos are beautiful, and I hope you LOVE them!
