The Chamberlin’s Newborn Session – Claremore & Owasso Photographer

There’s something so special about photographing families I already know and love – especially when it’s a family I’ve worked with four or five times now! Katie is not only a sweet friend but also my web designer. She is a fellow Christian business owner and a homeschooling mom, and it’s always a joy to spend time with her family.

For this newborn session, we kept things close to home – literally. Their property in Claremore, near Owasso, was the perfect backdrop. Right across the street from their house is a beautiful pond. There’s also wide open lot next door and plenty of space for the kids to run and play! We had everything we needed. The best part was that the kids felt comfortable, which made for photos that just made sense. No stiff posing or unnatural smiles. This is what they do on a normal afternoon, and it was a joy to capture them in their element!

Out of respect for their family’s online privacy (they keep their babies off social media!), I’m only sharing a small collection of my favorites here. But even just a glimpse shows how much beauty there is in letting go and trusting your photographer. Of course, I’ll admit that probably came a little easier for Katie since we’ve collaborated on multiple sessions over the years!

It’s such a reminder that photography doesn’t always need the perfect Pinterest backdrop. Sometimes, the most meaningful images happen right where your family feels the most comfortable – your own front yard, your favorite shady tree, or a place that will hold memories for years to come.
