“I CANNOT believe I’m marrying my 6th grade boyfriend!”

I overheard Cassidy giggling this towards the end of our shoot, and if I hadn’t already loved her & Duke before, then this moment would have sealed the deal. I absolutely adore these two and I couldn’t be more excited to introduce you guys to this endearing and fun couple! They have quite the story – from dating in middle school briefly, high school briefly, and then making it official in college, they got engaged just two weeks before our shoot! The newness and excitement of their big news was still lingering, making the feelings and love that much more tangible. I think it’s safe to say they are smitten!

I feel like Cassidy has been a part of the MFP crew for longer than most of my clients! We originally connected through Delight when it was hosted at my little house off of Chautauqua the first year it started. I’ve seen her around the football field on game days due to her involvement with the Pride of Oklahoma, and she has of course been a staple in my notifications on Instagram the last few years too! She actually won this session via a silent auction earlier this year, so this date has been in the books for months! It was about time that things became official!

There are so many things I love about these photos! Of course the beautiful couple and their ready-for-anything attitudes were a highlight, but I love the pops of color she included in her outfits. I’ve traditionally been a neutrals, light colors, and pastels girl, but in the last year, I’ve really been drawn to more bright blues, peaches, and greens. I think I gravitated towards neutrals because of the “light and airy” film style that I am inspired by (and find to be SO dreamy and romantic), but when it comes to describing my true photography style, I think true-to-life and joyful are words I would use. Good usage of color seems to go hand-in-hand with that, so I hope you’ll be seeing more of those bright and punchy outfits and details in future shoots!
